3rd year of “Donation Ranking of Hong Kong Listed Companies”
Press Conference

 
The Sodata Analytics Foundation Association announced that the Donation Ranking of Hong Kong Listed Companies 2017, which was the 3rd year after the successful launch of the first donation ranking in 2015. The Foundation also launched WeChat applets and charity games to raise public awareness of public welfare activities.
 
How do listed companies leverage corporate social responsibilities to create greater economic and social value?
 
Internet giants have been actively involved in charity, and huge donations have become commonplace. Mark Zuckerberg, Founder of Facebook, also pledged to donate majority of his wealth two years ago, hoping to change the world through charity. This trend finally hit China. Xu Jiayin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Evergrande Group, topped Forbes China charity list for many years. Jack Ma, Chairman of Alibaba has announced devoting himself to education and philanthropy after retirement. Awareness of social responsibility continued to rise during recent years. Hong Kong listed companies have also significantly increased their investment in philanthropy while realizing their own development. More people are willing to make social impact investments, which is a positive signal for social progress and sets a new standard for corporate sustainable development.
